Designtorget opens a webshop!

Designtorget is a chain of stores selling new Swedish design objects, hand picked to be interesting and fresh, with a constantly changing range of products. This is the shop to visit when you are looking for a unique hostess gift, something special for yourself, your home or your child.
Up until now, the products have only been available in the big cities in Sweden, but now everyone has access to the wonderful stuff, through the Designtorget Webshop that opened today! For now, they only ship within Sweden, but I read that they are planning to expand to international shipping in the future, so save the address for future use, as there are some very desirable objects to be found here.

Re-found Objects

Just found this charming British little webshop, Re-found Objects, with the most beautiful product shots. I think that is so important for webshops, and unfortunately too often overlooked. When you can't touch the objects you are interested in, all you can do is indulge them with your eyes, and if the picture isn't tempting, you won't buy. So all you shopowners out there, invest some money in hiring a professional photographer for your site, I'm sure it will be worth it in the end!

Art Koncept

Looking for some cool and modern, affordable art for your walls, but had enough of the small prints and postcards you find on Etsy? Check out Artkoncept, a Danish company selling a great range of art prints on ecological stretched art canvases, delivered completely ready to hang, straight to your door. Among the artists are some fresh and talented street artists/graffiti painters, photographers, illustrators and graphic designers. The prints come in 4 different sizes, from 40x40 up to 150x150 cm, and prices start at around $ 100. I'd love to have any of the art below!

Right now Artkoncept is hosting a give-away at the web site for the new Danish interior design mag RUM, enter here to have a chance to win a gift voucher worth $ 400!

Supermarket, like Etsy without the junk

I just found Supermarket, a web shop that seems to work similar to like Etsy, where you can buy products directly from designers, but Supermarket's product range is more modern, sleek and without the "crafty" stuff that overflows Etsy... In this Brooklyn based shop you can find items from big names like Norwegian Wood, Brave Space, blissen, Deadly Squire, Kim Westad and ferm Living along with new up and coming international designers. These are some of my favourites (but check out the site because there is so much more!):

Scandie wallpaper

As promised, here is some more info on the wallpaper in the top photo from yesterdays post! It's from a new Swedish wallpaper company called Scandie. They have a stylish collection, all manufactured in Sweden, and designed by some of the worlds most talented designers. Or what else can you say about names such as Dutch design studio Demakersvan, and from Sweden; my favorites Anna Irinarchos and Lisa Widén of design studio WIS.

A clipping from their site:
Scandie is a community of free spirits. A big family in which designers and artists from all over the world share the same fire: the burning desire to create design that goes straight to the heart of the beholder. If you are pro freedom and believe in design that knows no limits, then you are our friend.

The GARAGE shop

image3584

Last autumn a new great little shop opened up in SoFo, my favourite area in Stockholm. The store's name is GARAGE, and they offer a stunning mix of new and vintage furniture, art and home accessories from the 1920's to the present, with everything from Eames chairs to Tove Adman's concrete candlesticks. A very stylish store indeed, but not in the intimidating way where you are afraid to go in because you don't have the right look. The staff are very friendly and service minded, and can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the great design pieces in the shop. If you can't visit the brick and mortar shop, you can always have a look in their webshop!

image3583

As I mentioned, GARAGE are selling art as well, and on April 26 they are hosting their first vernissage. The artists name is Lotta Enbrand, and she works with a mix of acrylics and photography to present little scenes from the mundane everyday life in a new beautiful light.

Ferm Living bed linen

I just had a look at what's new at the Urbis Home & Design webshop, and found these wonderful new bedlinen sets from Ferm Living. Have you ever seen plywood look duvet covers before? I haven't, but I love the idea now that I see it!  Now of course, the flower and tree patterns are also lovely...

Stilleben shop is now open!

image2779image2778

I have been waiting for this one, and now it's here, the Stilleben shop! Straight out of Denmark, this is the best of contemporary Danish crafts and design with products from for example Ditte Fischer, Anne Black, Cecilie Manz and Anna Carin Dahl. Stilleben are also offering some classic pieces from Finn Juhl and Jonathan Adler.

image2781image2780

So far the only available language for the shop is Danish, but it will soon be available in English and Japanese as well. Don't let the language barrier stop you from taking a look at this site though, it is very easy to navigate and has some beautiful pictures. Oh, by the way, if you were wondering, "stilleben" means still life in Danish.
