My styling for Brdr. Krüger

Remember back in December, when I went to Copenhagen (again) for a styling job, and showed you some behind-the-scenes? The shoot was for Brdr. Krüger's new catalogue. They are an old Danish family business, established in 1886, probably most famous for their Tray Tables designed in 1963 by architect Hans Bølling. What you perhaps didn't know is that they are also producing the world famous wooden monkey by Kay Bojesen. The monkey production actually takes place in their home, with the whole family gathered around the dining table, attaching the different parts by hand. Isn't that awesome?!
 
The brief for the pictures was to make some fresh and inspirational photos of the tray tables and Orbis Mobile glass tables/carts. I wanted to take them out of their traditional context and make them a bit more modern and playful, so I chose to do the shoot in a studio where we could play around a bit more and not be constrained by the limits of a real home. I also tried to vary the settings and expressions as much as I could for each photo, to show the versatility of the tables. The pictures are meant to be more as loose suggestions sparking the imagination than real life settings that you can copy and use in your home.
Below are my favorite pictures (there are more photos, but we played around worked hard in the studio for two days so I won't show you everything because you would get bored). What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

    Svar: Thanks! It's fun to hear that you like the second picture best, because that is one I made in 5 minutes with stuff left over from the other pics. It was totally unplanned, because they had forgotten to put the green table in my brief. But I really like that one too. :)

    Mina favoriter är
    1. firren med den gula citronen (blicken hamnar tillbaka dit och på brickan hela tiden), och
    2. vagnen med de blå glasen (stora bilden med blå glas på golvet som upprepar tejpens form, och bildar en fin diagonal). Dessutom: perfekt placering av skivan bakom vagnen.
    Var skall det här sluta???? ;-)

    PS 2 (nu har jag kommit igång ;-)) Om du vill veta varför jag inte valde någon av de andra bilderna som favvo, så tycker jag att #1 är lite för konventionell (sorry), #2 är för platt (för min smak), #4 är för rörig, saknar riktning och flyter ut i kanterna (blicken får ingen hjälp), #5 & 6 Är urless på japanplattor (bben there, done that...), #8 är en mycket vacker detaljbild, men inte lika intressant som bilden ovanför. My 2 cents, så här en fredagskväll efter midnatt.

    Svar: Tack för input! Jag kan säga att om ettan hade varit mindre tajt beskuren så hade den varit en aning mindre traditionell, med en vissen krukväxt och mera röra. Tvåan kan jag också se såhär i efterhand att den blev lite platt. Fyran tycker jag är ok men hade gärna sett fönstren helt utfrätta till vitt för att minska det röriga intrycket. 5+6 Jag gillar fortfarande japanplattor och sexan är ju rent strikt räknat inte en sådan. :) 8 är som sagt en detaljbild och måste ses tillsammans med den över. För sig själv blir den lätt obegriplig.

    Hej igen - nej verkligen INTE som varnande exempel (det har jag GOTT om!!) Jag letar alltid efter goda exempel (som det är ont om...). Jag är alltid ute efter arrangemang med fina diagonaler och grupperingar/färgval som hjälper till att leda ögat i bilden, så att fokus är på "rätt" plats/objekt. De flesta missar detta och pyntar "all over the place" ;-) Inte minst viktigt i hur bostäder presenteras på nätet, men där råder rena lekstugan!

    PS: japanplatta och japanplatta.... ;-)

    Mer PS: måste säga igen att jag är sååå impad över hur du använt de befintliga fasta installationerna i arrangemanget med firren. Ofärskämt smart, och lite lurigt jobbat. Sån't klarar inte många idag ;-) Möjligen inte en bild som företaget väljer, men intressant i sitt nytänkande.
