The always lovely combo of concrete and wood, beautifully performed by Japanese architects Jun Inokuma of Naruse Inokuma and Hiroko Karibe.

As a reaction to your post about 'real life homes', I must say this feels a bit sterile. What happens in that big open space they have? Surely if it's a work area, there will be books at the very least....
Having said all that, I do love the combination of bare concrete and wood. And the details of the ceramics on the shelves in the kitchen .Sommer says:

It's very minimalist - I love the concrete and the paint treatments and have never really seen a home put together like that before. What about mixing metals that appear in the space? Does the design really work only with aluminum or stainless steel or if you discretely place a copper pot (http://www.brydenroad.com/Aged-Copper-Finish-Plant-Set-of-2.html) near some of the areas decorated with wood, does that add more to the depth of the space?
