EMMAS DESIGNBLOGG

Design and style from a Scandinavian perspective

An old favorite

I have been seeing these images floating around the internet without sources since I posted them in 2007, and since I still really like them, I thought I could give you the background... The pictures are from a Stockholm loft that was for sale through estate agency Lagerlings in September that year. It's a wonderful and unique home with a tower room, a big roof terrace with sauna and shower, and an enormous beautiful kitchen. Back in 2007 the whole loft conversion trend hadn't exploded here yet, so these kind of spaces were very rare.
Unfortunately the new owners ruined the apartment, as you can see here. Let's just hope that they haven't made any permanent damage and that it can all be restored when they move out...

Such a gorgeous space. Please tell me they didn't touch the beams! Hope it's salvageable for the next owner. Actually, I hope the next owner is me.

the word "tase" implies variety and different levels of taste. one could also say different people have different style and aesthetic perception. i too like the "before" look of that place much better, but does that give me the authority to lable the "after" pictures as huge taste-falior?

not necessaryly everybody likes the clean white chic look. this should not be about labeling people with having "bad taste". show me things that you like not things that you don't like - gives me so much more information!

There is no absolute truth in design or taste. So for the blog writer it has to be white. If it isn't white, it isn't right. Not everybody might share that opinion.
