Design and style from a Scandinavian perspective

Fantastic Frank FTW!

If I was to sell an apartment in Stockholm today, I would definitely hire Frank to do it. This is their latest super styled flat for sale! I wonder what their candy budget is...

By the way, look at the way they played with the Kivi tea light holders from Iittala in the kitchen window. I think it's hilarious, but if you aren't Swedish you probably don't see what's so funny? Well, the thing is that everyone, and I mean everyone, in Sweden has those tea light holders at home. They are considered to be "classic good taste" and "stylish", and are a very safe decorating choice. But usually people just have two or three, casually displayed on the sofa table next to the latest issue of Residence or Family Living, and not a whole mountain of "good taste"!

His styling is great fun - I love him! BUT I am not sure this kind of styling is the best idea if you want to show off a place's "inner" qualities and possibilities. Overstyled objects tend to distract many people. Many can't see beyond the fun details, and have difficulties seeing/remembering the object itself. I have loads of examples where miss-styled houses/apartments, would not sell until you removed the spectacular "clutter", so to speak... Hope he does better!

I'm not swedish but I find them adorably funny :)

Even if, in mine not-swedish humour, I find even more hilarious the false teeth in the toilet!

Thanks for introduce us to Frank ;)

I mean why not to put the teeth in bath room? Every day you see a lot of sad things... But the rest of the accomdation is well done. And that's important. Isn't? ;)

    Ciao from Italia...

I love fantastic frank, I'm a real estate photographer myself, but my real estate agents won't let me style it the "fantastic frank way". Love your blog and photos as well, very inspiring! Cheers, Jenny

I couldn't agree more with Lisbeth. Funny styling BUT...

Styling real estate is a nice idea and can be a great decisive help when it comes to some objects and/or clients who don't necessarily have an eye for the essence or potential hidden in a house/apartment. But styling for the sake of styling is not the real thing. And I think that styling that is instantly recognizable as such is totally missing the point.

In my opinion, everything that distracts the attention from the object itself to focus more on someone's sense of humor or styling abilities is in the end a disservice and bad real estate managing (or rather: has nothing to do with real estate management). Styling should always serve the actual purpose.

Natalia, I agree 100%. These spectacular Fantastic Frank (FF) homes are very funny, very "out there", but has (to me) more to do with carving out a space for (the new agency) FF, than selling real estates. I visited FF again today, and I notice that already their eye catching styling is turning into a manner...
