Design and style from a Scandinavian perspective

My first styling job!

Like I told you a couple of weeks ago, I just did my first styling job, before this I've only been assisting other stylists. The assignment was to illustrate the merge between two trade magazines, one for the paint business and one for the interior business. So there had to be wallpaper, paint and furniture in all the pics. This was published in the first issue of the new trade magazine Nyans & Interiör. As this is the first issue, I had nothing to go on in terms of what they had featured before, what kind of style they wanted and things like that. So I was a little nervous, crossing my fingers that they would like what I made of it... And they did! I hope you like it too! The last picture isn't quite my style with the strong pink hues, but I wanted to include this year's Pantone color; Honeysuckle, and I think it came out ok anyway. I appreciate comments of all kinds, but please be a little gentle since it was my first time styling all by myself...

    Actually, my favourite is the last one. :P

    I guess when you style, you convey a mood, and of course it will be "you" to a certain degree, but i think it doesn't always have to be fully your style.

    I love the second one most.. the wall paper looks like steel in my eyes. Great combination of furniture and I love the way you presented the paint with the cans. Last one is not my taste but I see what you did.

    first one is a lot going on on the floor in my eyes.. but I know how difficult it is to arrange those shoes in a good way and you succeed very well in that.. Oh and I like the details of the birds on the heater too.

    Wow Emma, you've done a fantastic job! My favourite is the second arrangement - vintage typewriters always do it for me and that lampshade is just fabulous, where is it from? I like how you've used the honeysuckle shade without it feeling too cute and girly - it really works.

    Candie, jag har ingen utbildning egentligen, bara en sommarkurs på St Martins och en massa år som stylistassistent. Tror inte man kan lära sig styling genom att gå i skolan egentligen, det sitter liksom i ögat...



    Therese, kul att du gillar, men jag kan ju inte räkna upp vart alla produkterna kommer ifrån här. :) Är det någon speciell pryl du undrar över?



    Linda, koppen är från Posh Living men den finns på många andra ställen också, jag tror tex Dennys Home och NK Inredning har dem.

    Desiree, I'm getting that table too! But I'm going to use it as a table in front of the sofa. I bought one of these (the big one in white), but it is way too small and wobbly for us. http://www.daviddesign.se/furniture/tables/bailey/

    The Ikea table is very sturdy and although I'm not loving the fact that it isn't real wood it is very practical when you have small children...



    Did you see the pics from Ikea Livet hemma where they used this table and filled it with a billion plants?

    I LOVE YOUR STYLE!! The Paint pots are so original!! under the table with Tressels!! I don't know if it was delivered but it is quite a touch!!

    On the other hand, the bright pink is not my thing either but it is good for those who like striking and colourfull design.
