Christmas Calendar 2/12: Asplund

Today's sponsor of the Christmas calendar is Asplund, a great design shop in Stockholm with a range of modern Scandinavian designs as well as their own line of furniture and accessories.

Asplund collaborated with Brandsläckaren.se and developed a very stylish fire extinguisher in matte white. Stylish enough to be left in sight, which is where it should be to be available when you need it! Christmas is the most dangerous time of the year regarding home fires because of all the lit candles, so a fire extinguisher should be a given accessory in any home. So for your safety, take part in this giveaway!

    the fire extinguisher is great! finally something more stylish than the red ones you usually get.

    my favorite product by asplund would be the RAND chest of drawers because I'm very much into the horizontal lines and I also like the range of colours. Nice designs anyway :)

    Oooh so cool! I just saw the first picture, was amased by the extinguisher and searched for it on the net. Only after that I found out by scrolling further, that you're actually giving it away!!!



    Asplund manufactures a lot of beautifull items along the scandinavian style line. I like KILT 60:180 in petrol-colour a lot, but my favourite is PRESS, magazine stand in white lacquered metal. Different from others on the market being straight, sleek and cleen with a touch of elegance by the leather handle. Just like the most awsome item I have seen since long: that stylish fire extinguisher. I want it so badly to match my monochromatic kitchen beeing protection for wild cooking style by my little daughter MIA(4). Pleeeeaaase, hit me whith it. I'll pay for the postage to germany! And promise to send a picture of it with my "firegirl"!

    I like a lot of their furniture like the vass or arc cabinet. But in fact what I like most is the fire extinguisher. What a great idea to create a stylish one! With two little children we have always a fire extinguisher in sight. At christmas and the rest of the year. It would be cool, if it would fit to the rest of the interior...

    I like the L series by Johannes Norlander. The cabinets are simple but fun. The white one in the photo would in fact be great for my living room - low enough even for my sofa, which is very low!



    The fire extinguisher is incredibly beautiful, too. I never thought I'd say that about a fire extinguisher.

    Bermuda table by Thomas Eriksson is like made for me. I love those legs! It looks like the perfect table for a dinning room and at the same time the right desk for your home office.

    I enjoy the FREE book shelf in four parts by Thomas Eriksson, it's so much more interesting than the ubiquitous Ikea Billy bookcase you see everywhere. I've always dreamed of a really cool book/whatever storage unit, don't know whether I'll buy one or try and build my own, only time will tell.

    I must say that my favorite item is this fire extinguisher! I'm a bit hysteric with fire safety, I don't even burn candles even though I like them. I wouldn't feel safe living without a fire extinguisher. This looks so stylish and you don't have to hide it out of sight!

    Även fast jag länge varit sugen på Asplunds fina korg så hade jag nog allra helst satsat på deras snygga "skeleton hanger". Har en vision om ett badrum helt utan krokar och då hade den passat perfekt. Jag tror att den kan bidra med en härligt unik känsla i badrummet som annars har ganska strikta ramar för hur det "borde" se ut.

    Kombinationen av mitt designintresse och den eviga skräcken för bränder kan bara lösas på ett sätt: en snygg brandsläckare.

    Då kan man ha den framme utan att förstöra hemmets inredning, samtidigt som jag (men en brandvarnare i taket) kan sova gott om natten.

    I've never heard about Asplund, but their things sure look good.



    I like the white Vass Storage System. It's modern and simple and yet very special. The stripes look like thin trees in a fragile winter-forrest, which makes the design look a bit childish and quite playfull!

    it's quite hard to choose a favourite object..but i definitely like the SNOW line. and i've never seen a white fire extinguisher. we had a bad experience with a fire extinguisher earlier this year. it didn't work and just made "puff"..

    I just adore the Vass V60ST in plum. I love how it kind of captures the room in the showroom picture. It turns heads and reminds me of how my mother turned heads when wearing this beautiful deep purple coloured dress to a ball and I, as a 7 year old girl just watched and wished that one day I'd be like her (you know, those princess dreams), wearing pretty dresses with nice high heeled shoes. As the obsession over looks and the "must" to be the prettiest faded with time, I now prefer making my home look beautiful, instead of myself, and that drawer is therefore kind of my way of going to the ball in the most extraordinary dress.

    Gud, bästa påminnelsen. Min mamma är rullstolsburen sängrökare - blir det ingen vinst i denna tävling så slår jag till och köper en brandsläckare åt henne ...såpass snygg som den ändå är kan hon inte rationalisera bort att ha den stående framme.



    Vad gäller favoritprodukt så kan man jämföra mig med en gravid kvinna som ser bäbisar överallt. Inte så att jag går och bär på en matta i min mage, men jag är längtar efter att hitta "DEN DÄR" mattan, den som tilltalar mig både estetiskt och ekonomiskt. Nu har jag inte vågat kolla upp vad Asplunds Kelimmattor kostar men fick jag möjlighet att lägga vantarna på en miniflag i blått så skulle jag kissa ner mig av lycka... Jag ser små alptoppar och blir bara alldeles salig.

    I think I like all their storage collections. My favourite is probably the UNIT, nice simple lines and yet design, stylish and beautiful. I like the idea of putting a design effort in day to day objects, like the fire extinguisher that we can leave in plain view.

    My favorite is the snow cabinet. Pre the cabinet: my daughters tiny Lego. One nasy piece is hiding in the carpet, waiting for my innocent foot to step on the little bugger. Without making a sound I curse the thing. Since we bought the cabinet my daughter PUTS ALL THE LEGO IN THE DRAWERS HERSELF. I can't quite believe it. She is 1.
