Saturday Sweets

Perhaps I should rename this category "Weekend Treats" instead of "Saturday Sweets"? Because often enough I can't seem to find the time to create this post on Saturdays, and it comes up on Sundays instead... Anyway, here are your treats for the week, I hope you like them no matter what day of the week it is:

    oh, that looks like bittersweet branches. do you have bittersweet over there? we have them here in the upper midwest. i haven't gone looking for them in years, though. thanks for the reminder....

    Bittersweet is highly prized here, and I found out it is a native plant to the United States. It's very pretty; it's quit raining so I'm off to look for some soon.

    Hallloweem.

    Well, our Halloween this year was a strange one.

    I won't say it was a non-event, but it went from being an entrenched tradition to...

    well, let's say a scattering and a smattering.

    Every year, for as long as we've had children, we've spent Halloween at my parents.

    And they have the house brilliantly spooky, and the kids find money in their dinner,

    and a ring in the brack, and they get to knock on the same doors

    asI did with my brothers and sister and our friends.
