A real Swedish home

I've recieved quite a lot of comments and emails lately about Swedish style, that it is so wonderful and everybody here must be born with a great sense of aestethics and so on. Well, that is not the case. The pictures I show here are in no way representative of what an average Swedish home looks like! If I were to show average homes, noone would want to read this blog...
Most people live in common boring apartments and haven't changed their sofas since 1998. They have curtains with ugly flowery prints, apricot walls and IKEA posters on their walls. But let's pretend that isn't the case! Let's make believe that the home below is an average Swedish home, shall we? It would be so wonderful if that was the case...
This IS a real home, but styled to be sold.

    Not that I don't trust your aesthetic sense, but having lived for 15 years in the US in five different cities (and having been to all 50 states), I can categorically say that the average Swedish home (country or city, Lund or Umeo) is breathtakingly more attractive than the average American home. It's not even close. On the other hand, I find American materials, on average to just a little heavier, thicker, more substantial, which is the opposite of my stereotype.

    I don't doubt that the average american home is uglier than the average swedish home... however, that doesn't really say much, and it definitely doesn't mean that most homes here are nicely decorated. :)

    It depends on what kind of people you socialize with.

    I must say that most people that I know have nice homes. I work in a interior designshop and we see on a daily basis that people in all ages care about their homes and like that special "not too many things but the right ones" style.

    And no matter what day of the week, there is always alot of people at any IKEA in Sweden.

    So i don´t agree! :)

    Hej, hittade just din blogg o gillar den verkligen! Kollade lite och såg den underbara tavlan som är ovanför sängen här. Var nära att beställa den då den var med i roomservice för ettpar år sen men gjorde det aldrig. Har just flyttat till hus och nu när jag såg den ångrar jag mig!!! Kommer inte ihåg vilken site som sålde den, tror det var wall... någonting. Har du möjlihtvis en aning? Vore sååå tacksam för svar!! Mvh Marie

    Var tog husvagnarna vägen ? När jag häromdagen fick spader på bloggverkyget som hakade upp sig och inte ville svälja mina bilder&text så gick jag in på din vackra blogg och såg att vi satt ut samma bilder.     I just love the floor lamps in the bedroom. Where can they be purchased? That room is dreamy and so blissfull. The white floors and walls are crisp. Love it! Love it! Love it!

    Am I the only one who thinks this home needs some warm colors :P ? something, anything other than just green grey and white. Don't get me wrong, I like the "look" but it's so...cold!
