Design and style from a Scandinavian perspective

Win a Norm 69 light!

Here is your chance to win the classic Danish designer light Norm 69, designed by Simon Karkov in 1969 and now manufactured by Normann Copenhagen!

It is my new sponsor, Swedish (but with international shipping) web shop Vit Design who are so generous as to contribute with the prize in this competition, a 60 cm diameter Norm 69. Vit Design has made a special niche for themselves in the jungle of web shops out there, because they are selling only white products! Perfect for those among you who love the minimalist Scandi style.

Here is how the competition works:
1. Go to the Vit Design site, browse the shop to find your favourite product.
2. Come back here and write about it in the comments to this post.
3. I will randomly pick a winner next thursday, March 6.
4. One lucky winner will recieve a package of 69 pieces of plastic in their mail box, and have a night on the couch with a super stylish puzzle. :-)

Here are some pics to get you inspired, hopefully your home will look just as stylish when you have won!

My favorite is just the Norm 69 light, A shoft shape with sharp edges. Shadows within the lamp and just the fact that its a lamp that dont blend in, it just stands out.

The Norm 69 is definitely beautiful and classic, but I think Norm 03 takes the cake.
What a kookie design reminiscent of the huge petticoats my grandma use to wear when she went square dancing in Texas.
Texas square dancing translated into modern Scandinavian design.
    Who can say no?

What an excellent idea for a shop! I'm drawn to their lighting because while I have a lot of colour throughout my home, I balance it with white lightshades, lamps and candles. The Norm 03 and 69 have been long-time favourites of mine. I don't think I've seen the Grace light anywhere before and it's really beautiful, so that's a new favourite too! (Am I allowed to pick 3??) My favorite is the Tivoli Audio Model One ? just because I grew up hearing the soft spoken voices from my parents radio that was on basically all day and night, and I would love my kids to have the same soothing experience...

It's a tough call though, between the Tivoli Audio and the Norm 69, especially since I the other day saw the photo of it on your blog ? with my longtime favorite poster of the streets of Malmö in the background! This poster used to hang in my office at a job I had ages ago, and when I quit, my colleagues gave it to me as they knew how much I loved it. I've never seen it anywhere else before, and I'd be dying to copy this great combination in my living room :)

I would love to keep my herbs in the HOLD ÖRTKRUKA TRIO in my kitchen. Green of the herbs goes great with the white of the piece and radiates a very fresh feeling. Seeing this combination every morning would light up my day. :)

I'm completely absolutely in love with the KONTUR vase from Normann Copenhagen. It's so simple yet looks extraordinary. I must also say that I love the innovative approach of
using silicon as a material for a vase. Due to it's simple and elegant style it would be a perfect set for some monochrome flowers and also colourful combinatotion of summer-bouquets.... and as a different approach why not even a stock for a bunch of coloured pencils.

Besides the NORM 69, CHOKLADFONDUE is one of my favorites! We are living in the country of chocolate (Belguim), and it would be a very stylish thing to have. A great idea to have chocolate-fondue with kids, too. Think of a birthday party....

Oooooo - I've browsed this store countless times and have had my eye on the Chokladfondue-set for a while - this has to be my favourite (along with the crisp white towels, though I wouldn't want to go near one after eating all that chocolate). Sweet!

My personal favourite is the Norm 69. My 10-year old daughter is having a new white (and green) room and I think the Norm 69 would make the IT-thing in her room (though I think she would say the white MACBOOK 2,4 GHZ).

    I've got two favorites:
First the Norm 69 - i guess you can never beat a classic. Second I would go for the Termometer which I think is a very inspiring design object.
