Lately I have developed an admiration for the tight, straight grain stuff.
The "room end" application in these photos is very successful.
I also find it interesting to discover that it's being applied both vertically and horizontally in homes.
And... buy using it strategically (rather then everywhere) you can give the quality perception of "real wood" without placing it everywhere... which is easier on our environment.

Yes, I love those closet doors too! The wide white spaces between them makes the wall look interesting and not too heavy and dark. But i think i would have done it with rounded corners instead, for an even more retro look.

i prefer the ones with a burst of color... kind of catches your interest. they are all so beautful though...
ooh, i love the combination of neutral and wood.. and those letters on the wall ROCK.
The first one is my favorite. Normally I prefer a hint of bright colors. But for the white and wood theme, neutrals are more soothing.
I love the last image! Sunlight streaming in, wooden benches, logs in the niche - very homely and stylish too
