Cutting Edge
Cutting Edge av Lea-Mi Engholm är en stengodsskål som fått sin form genom att hon använt en sådan skärtråd man brukar ha till att lossa keramiken från drejskivan. Hon har skurit medan skålen snurrade, därav den slumpvisa formen som upphäver gränserna mellan in- och utsidan på skålen.
Lea-Mi har studerat på Designskolen Kolding, och arbetar i både lergods, porslin och stengods. För den som vill se mer kan jag berätta att hennes verk kommer att ställas ut på Konst- och Designbiennalen i Kolding, Danmark, i sommar.
The stoneware bowl Cutting by Lea-Mi Engholm gets is unique look by using the the cutting thread to cut the edges while the wheel is still rotating. This produces a random shape, and dissolves the lines between the inside and outside of the bowl. Very beatiful!
